"It appears that the real estate market is really starting to look up on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina" say Matt Houle, owner of Exit Realty of Hilton Head. Based on a recent article in the Island Packet, the area had 146 sales in the month of March 2009. "While there is still room to advance from where we have been in years past, this news is very encouraging. The evidence of stronger sales continues to point toward a gain in consumer confidence in real estate and points to a sense that the worst is over", says Houle.
"In particular, Hilton Head Plantation has experienced a steady aggregate increase in sales, since the beginning of 2009 over the ending monthly period of 2008", says Houle. "Since the beginning of the year buyers are intuitively realizing that the combination of very low home prices, coupled with historically low interest rate and sellers who are willing to aggressively negotiate, make for a great buying opportunity. It is likely that this combination of factors may never be seen again for several decades, if ever again. This is a once in a lifetime buying opportunity.
